Conceptual projects typically carry a great deal of financial risk. Will the concept even work is where CSMI can help. We work with clients through front-end staging to identify and mitigate  risks early in the process. Our engineers will work with the client to assist in business planning  with rough ideas and ballpark calculations for their concept.

 When CSMI approaches the concept, feasibility, and development systematically and  planned, the outcome is a streamlined, efficient process that ensures deadlines are met, costs  are maintained, and objectives achieved. 

 From powder to liquid handling, process engineers evaluate process and packaging lines implemented at the manufacturing facilities. Our goal is to optimize production lines to increase productivity and efficiency. CSMI Engineers:

Controls Engineering focuses on analyzing process controls, electrical principles and systems with expertise including:

• Control system design, components, bill of materials (e.g. PLC/HMI, technology, instrumentation, pneumatics, Servo motors) 

Our Controls Engineers are qualified to perform project start-ups, and have extensive  experience in various packaging operations - conveying, filling, freezing, case packing, and  palletizing. They are also proficient in PLC Programming, HMI applications development, and  the following database applications:

• MS SQL servers 
• VBA, C++, and other higher level programming languages
• Communications networking and protocols
• Ethernet
• DeviceNet

Mechanical Engieners specify the proper equipment such as tanks, valves, and pumps to match the project application. Knowledge of the equipment's specifications and standards are utilized and incorporated into the design. CSMI Mechanical Engineers:

• Plan and prepare drawings of mechanical equipment layouts  
• Develop Piping and Instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and piping designs
• Generate drawing/documentation lists and schedules and bill of materials (BOM)
• Create process equipment specifications
• Mechanical contractor installation packages, as-built drawings, and technical & maintenance manuals 

Support engineering provides hands-on, as-needed resources for other engineering services, project management, and construction management, including:
